Hope of Mankind

Watch the news. Read the paper. The world is crumbling.
At first glance, it would seem that humans are a hopeless case. We have wars, assignations, murders, many species have been obliterated because of our foolishness. I could go on about the faults of humans. But despite our many problems, we have a truly good core. We can see our faults. We try to be better. Looking past the surface, we see the true legacy of mankind. Love.
We can fight wars... for our freedom. People will suffer for each other. People die for each other. Because we can do that, we can survive. You might hear that mankind is doomed. We will bring about our own destruction. But as long as love lives, life will go on. And with love comes hope, and hope brings strength, strength brings change. Love will prevail.
Always.

Issues

Okay, everybody. Time to get this thing off the ground.
If this becomes big enough, if enough people contribute, participate, and become members, we might get someplace. GIVE US YOUR OPINIONS!!!! We can't change the world on our own. We can't switch the perception of teens without working together. EMAIL YOUR IDEAS TO US. (wewritecomp@gmail.com)
It could be ideas about anything. Here are some issues that might be good to discuss. Write up a paper/essay/poem/just about anything else about an issue and send it. We'll then look it over and post it on the blog, where others can make comments on it and we can begin discussing it.

ISSUES that might provide some good discussions:
Communism
Socialism
Our Government
Global Warming
Science
English
The Media
Anorexia (and other eating disorders)
Depression
Music
Love
True Happiness and How to Acheive it
Religion
Books
Great Minds (Einstein, Shakespeare, ect.)
Relationships with Family
Humanitarian Aid
Rebellions
Terrorism

AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU think is important. If you think it is, so do many others.
Come on, everybody. Let's start making a difference.

Introduction to the Tootsie Roll Revolution

The Tootsie Roll Revolution. When you think of a Tootsie Roll, you don’t think of it seriously. You don’t think of it as something that can change the world. You don’t think it does anything except what the maker told it to do. Now think of a teenager. Adults don’t take us seriously. They don’t think we could change the world. They think we believe what our parents believe and don’t really have our own opinions and ideas. That we’re miniature models of our parents. It’s time we proved them wrong.

We need to show that ordinary kids just like us – you don’t have to be a prodigy, a genius, or beautiful – can make a difference. If we stand together, that difference may be big. If we stand alone, that difference may be small. It’s your choice.

An idea not shared, an opinion kept to one’s self is an inspiration that will never inspire. Keeping a thought locked away, never to be used is depriving the world of an opportunity that could change, shape, and structure a day of someone’s life, the life of someone’s soul, and the soul of someone’s heart. Will I be selfish enough to hide my light under a bushel when the world gropes in the darkness? But when one person, one mere teen, lifts their bushel away, others just like them will lift off their bushels, too and soon the whole world will be filled with light. Because someone was brave enough to show their candle, nobody will be lost in the night anymore.
You have a candle.
Share it.
